Confessions of a Witch Girl: The courage to become

Human life sits on the edge of a paper thin blade.

You are always one ‘whoops’ away from death, just as you are always one choice away from a completely different life.

We live lives off of blueprints formed in infancy and adolescence and so many of us don’t do the work to re write our programming ourselves as we evolve in to our adulthood.

We can look around at our society and see that that which does not evolve, dies, is forgotten, is left behind. We accept evolution in all areas of culture. In fact we demand it. New iPhones, new tech, new fashion, new, new, new. Yet we stay the same, or at least we spend half a life time, sometimes more, trying too.

Why do we fear our own becoming? What is it about our own evolution that frightens us? Why is it that when we hear our own call for destruction of the old and a restructure in to the new that we crumble at the thought?

Is this an innate part of our biology that has not yet been bred out of us through the Darwinian survival of the fittest? Could it be that the most fit of us, over the past many centuries, were in fact those that did not evolve? If that is the case, that era has clearly come to an end. The time for change is now, and those that refuse their self reflection, refuse their evolution, will be left behind.

Our world feels chaotic because human nature is afraid of self change. We fear our own evolution. Just as the Fall wind blows the decaying leaves from their branches, our current World is preparing for a wind to blow from it the old paradigms that no longer support its growth. The chaos we can feel in our blood is whispering to us that change IS coming. It is demanding we are shaken from our branches, as we too are decaying in the comfort of old structures, that we have failed to see are dying. It is just as the leaf must be shaken after its own death on the tree, so it may fall to the Earth, reborn again as the soil that will nourish the very tree that will birth a new leaf in the spring.

We are in our death cycle.

We are being asked to surrender to the forces of nature that are older than time itself. We are being asked to free fall to the Earth where yes we will be destroyed, but after our destruction we will come back as something new. Something that serves both our individual selves, but also the whole.

We can all feel this intrinsically. Even those unaware of the metamorphic nature of our human existence, can feel the winds of change tugging at their soul.

We are in a collective purge of the dead, of that which is begging to be released so that it may come back as the next version of itself.

We make the assumption that just because something hasn’t happened yet means that it must be wrong to happen at all.

We want to see evolution in our own lives and yet we refuse to change our thoughts, beliefs, and behaviours that create the foundation on which our lives are built.

You can not desire a blue painting and use only red paint on the canvas, and then be shocked when your painting ends up being red. Yet this is how so many of us live each day.

We want nicer bodies, better pay cheques, calmer nervous systems, more fulfilling careers, but we make no incremental movements to provide the foundation for these things to evolve.

We must plant the seeds for the flowers we wish to see in our garden the following season.

You must take the time to plan out your life and then strategicly cultivate the seeds you need too to reap the bounty of the harvest.

Every day you are planting your garden. Every day. Every choice. We are cavalier with our time, we all know death comes for each of us, yet we spend most of our lives as if we are immortal. As if today doesn’t matter.

Life is a string of today’s, and tomorrow never comes. It is only today that exists. Tomorrow is a concept we have created to give us an excuse to cheat ourselves of our own infinite potential to be anything and everything we can imagine.

You have the power to be everything you ever dreamed of. The ideas you hold in your soul were given to you for a reason. We don’t all have the same dreams. We live in a culture that has fooled us in to thinking that we do. But if you quiet your mind and listen only to your heart you will see that your dream is unique to you. It is something only you can offer. If you look a little deeper you will also see that life has been grooming you, preparing you, teaching you, exactly who you need to be to achieve that dream.

The fact that you are here reading this tells you that you are close.

You are ready to take responsibility for your choices and step in to your own evolution.

Welcome to the winds of change.
